About

Gradual Climb

The Mountain Bike Skills Park Committee was established under the River City Cycle Club in 2011. Since this time a campaign for a mountain bike skills area for Campbell River has been established. We have been working with the City of Campbell River, the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Management, Campbell River Recreation Department, Go Campbell River, Spokes, Outdoor Addictions, Pedal Your World, and Swicked cycles to promote this initiative.

Picking a Trail

After several years struggling to find the right location we finally decided to talk to the City for help. Dec. 4, 2013 the committee made a presentation to the Recreation Commission of Campbell River to request support for city resources to be used to find this location. The commission was incredibly supportive and made a recommendation to City Council to support the initiative. Council accepted the recommendation and approved a motion to find a location for the bike skills area.

Pedalling

Here are the project phases:

Phase 1 includes a paved pump track and an outbuilding.  The pump track is now is now complete and open to the public.

Phase 2 includes a skills and family area, jump lines and a drop zone.  THE LAND IS CLEARED AND CONSTRUCTION IS SCHEDULED TO START JUNE 2020.  The phase still requires $10,000 – $15.000 in funding.
